Every year, the World’s Children’s Prize Program concludes with a week filled with activities in Mariefred, Sweden, where with WCP Lauretaes, Jury children and other child right activists come together.
The annual WCP Ceremony is chaired by the Child Jury at Gripsholm Castle in Mariefred. All three Child Rights Heroes are honoured and receive prize money towards their work with children. H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden helps the World’s Children’s Prize Jury children to present the awards.
Organize a local celebration!
Schools can of course conclude the WCP Program with their own ceremony as part of a World’s Children’s Prize day or evening event to celebrate the Child Rights Heroes and the rights of the child. You can invite parents, relatives, friends, officials, politicians, journalists and other adults. Make it into a festive day or evening for the rights of the child, with a host to lead the proceedings, and speeches and performances.
Celebrate children’s rights!
The common thread that links everything is the rights of the child and what you have experienced through the World’s Children’s Prize Program. It is a great experience for all the children who have participated in the Program to see this, and it gives parents and other adults a good overview of what their children have been involved in, and of the rights of the child.
